Wakeel Baba is a free, modern legal studies library built for law students, advocates, researchers, competitive exam candidates, and anyone who needs quick, reliable access to the laws of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The name Wakeel Baba — “the wise counsel” — reflects our mission: to make legal knowledge approachable, searchable, and organised the way a practising lawyer or a serious student actually thinks about the law.

Our library is organised by jurisdiction first, then by practice area, so you always study the right statute for the right region. Every entry includes the author or issuing body, the year, the type of resource, and a concise description — plus, where possible, a full article or multi-chapter reading experience.

Our Principles
Accuracy first. Every resource lists its author or issuing authority, year of publication or enactment, and resource type. Where a work is a commentary rather than the statute itself, we say so.
Respect for copyright. Wakeel Baba only hosts full texts of works that are in the public domain, released under a Creative Commons licence, or for which we have obtained explicit written permission. For everything else, we provide bibliographic references, short excerpts within fair use, and links to the original publisher.
No paywalls, no tracking ads. The library is free to use. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run intrusive advertising.
Continuous expansion. New statutes are enacted every year, and new commentaries are published every term. We update the library regularly and welcome corrections from the legal community.
Our Story
Wakeel Baba began as a personal study project — a private index of Pakistan’s criminal statutes used for exam preparation. As the collection grew to include casebooks, commentaries, and resources from other jurisdictions, it became clear that the same need existed for thousands of students and practitioners. We opened the library publicly so that anyone, anywhere, could benefit from the same structured reference.
Today, Wakeel Baba covers five major common-law jurisdictions and continues to grow with contributions, corrections, and suggestions from its readers.
